For your convenience, we will arrange a transfer to the hotel in one of our private air-conditioned vehicles. Once at the hotel, our assistant will help you with the registration process.

The remainder of the day is yours to unwind and fully enjoy the comfort of the hotel.

Day 2: GIZA, THE PYRAMIDS & SAQQARA

After enjoying a tasty and abundant breakfast with typical products of the region, our visit to the most important points of interest in the largest metropolis on the African continent will begin.

The tour, as our official English-speaking guide will explain, will start with the famous Pyramids of Giza. Here, we will find the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing: the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

This funerary complex is presided over by the famous Sphinx, with the head of King Khafre and the body of a lion. We will be able to observe it both from the main access esplanade and up close. Additionally, we can enter the interior of one of the other two pyramids: Khafre or Menkaure.

Optionally, we can include lunch and a tour of the Saqqara necropolis. There, the funerary complex of King Djoser stands out. It is a city built exclusively for the king’s afterlife. Its step pyramid is the first stone structure made in pyramid form. It symbolizes the beginning of this type of construction in Egypt.

Furthermore, at night, we can arrange the light show at the Pyramids of Giza. We can also enjoy dinner while floating on the Nile. All of this is optional and should be consulted with your travel assistant.

3

Day 3: HISTORIC CAIRO

You will start the day with a delicious breakfast in the hotel dining room. Then, you will have free time to explore the city of Cairo.

You can take an optional full-day tour of Cairo, where you will visit the most important places of this historic city, starting with the Museum of Art Pharaonic. There you will find countless artifacts of incalculable value, such as Tutankhamun’s treasure, sarcophagi, mummies, and sculptures of unimaginable beauty.

Next, you can visit the historic Cairo, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and which, since the 10th century, was the area of the Caliphs and their mosques. The Citadel of Saladin stands out, later fortified to defend it from the Crusaders almost a millennium ago.

Afterward, you will visit the Khan El Khalili bazaar, where you will have free time to test your negotiating skills.

Before returning to the hotel, you will personally visit the Coptic neighborhood, with its melting pot of religions and in which the Hanging Church built on the Babylon Fortress stands out, the church of San Sergio where it is believed that the Holy Family took refuge in Egypt when fleeing of Herod and the synagogue of Ben Ezra, one of the oldest in the country.

4

Day 4: CAIRO & ASWAN

Early in the morning and after a refreshing breakfast, your English-speaking staff will transfer you to the Cairo Airport where you will take a flight to the city of Aswan.

Then you will travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the city of Aswan, where you will embark to visit the inaccessible island of Philae and see the temple built in honor of the goddess Isis which, like Abu Simbel and other temples in Egypt, had to be moved from its location due to the danger of being covered by the flooding of the Nile.

Later, you will visit the famous Aswan Dam, an impressive work of hydraulic engineering started by the British Empire and completed by the Egyptians in the middle of the last century.

Later you will take advantage of the occasion and take a picturesque ride in felucca, the traditional quintessential Egyptian wooden boat chosen for trade along the Nile for its excellent maneuverability and from where you will enjoy the landscape and a refreshing atmosphere.

During your walk, you will be able to see Elephantine Island, one of the oldest ivory trading centers in the world, as well as Kitchener Island, famous for housing a beautiful botanical garden, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. A simple glance will serve to understand why the Supreme Ismaelite Chief chose this place for his eternal rest. At night, you will enjoy a tasty dinner on board and then rest.

Continuing our journey, we’ll venture towards Esna, passing through the awe-inspiring Nile lock, an engineering marvel designed to regulate a remarkable 10-meter drop.
